Produced with 60% of Baga and 40% of Touriga Nacional grape varieties in a Single Family Estate, Quinta Bageiras! Limited Availability!
Some of its Baga grapes come from old vines, but in the years we do not have red garrafeira and have red reserva, all the old vines grapes are used for this wine. Those grapes are fermented for 5 to 8 days in a stone lagar without destemming (the berries are not removed from the cluster). Subsequently, they are pumped down with a wooden punch down tool, several times a day, until they reach the right intensity. Afterwards, the wine finishes its fermentation in old oak vats. While it rests, it is decanted and aged in the same vats for about 18 months. It is bottled without fining or filtration. All these processes are done by hand.
The two different grape varieties used to produce this wine make a harmonious wine. Plenty of character and elegance, with wild berries, spices, fresh herbs. Juicy, expressive, long, full of life. This wine will evolve well in the bottle.
