Vintage Port Wine
The highest quality of Port Wine there is! Produced only in exceptional quality harvest years, about 1 or 2% of the the whole production, because the grapes must be the absolute best selection. Ages 2 till 3 years in 250 or 500 Litre French oak barrels, then it is bottled and it continues to age inside the bottle. Usually attains the prime time when it is 20 to 40 years of age, wish varies according to the harvest. A young Vintage is usually very red ruby, quite full body with plenty of matured fruits flavours and a sweet fruitiness. As it evolves inside the bottle it will show amazing nose flavours, more elegance in the mouth and persistence. A Vintage may be enjoyed with a roasted lamb, cheeses, black chocolate desserts.
