LBV or Late Bottled Vintage is the second highest quality of Port Wine there is! Produced in high quality harvest years, represents 2 till 3% of the Port Wine production. Ages from 4 till 6 years in French oak barrels, it evolves inside the bottle if it is Unfiltered (a traditional LBV). Ruby Red colour, full body, sweeter and more matured than a young Vintage Port Wine, a sweet fruitiness, round tannins. Delicious with a nice selection of cheeses and crackers or some chocolate desserts (for e.g..: a hot chocolate cake)!
